It's tough for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the record chasers, are the only things left for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy getting a platform to create her newest gem.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Many contend the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was much more difficult to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a frustrating experience because it seemed I've had no rhythm whatsoever," said Healy.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was in motion.

"An opportunity to go out there and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself that way, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if we do, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this success succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

During that phase they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

But while she afterwards confessed those injuries have delayed plans to retire, this tournament is expected to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as captain.

Triumph in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
